Peacock Group is expanding its Victorian operations, with a new 8,000 sqm Dandenong South purpose-built facility set to bring Peacock Bros. and insignia together. The new site will increase the company’s combined warehouse and production footprint by approximately 66% and provide approximately 56% more production space.
The move will see around 150 employees from the two businesses progressively relocate to the site, creating a shared Melbourne base for teams currently operating from Knoxfield and Oakleigh.
While Peacock Bros. and insignia currently operate as established businesses within Peacock Group, the new shared location will allow their teams to work more closely and give customers greater access to the Group’s broader end-to-end offering.
Ryan McGrath, CEO of Peacock Group, said the new facility was the result of a considered search for a space that could support its people, operations and longer-term plans.
“Bringing our Oakleigh and Knoxfield teams together is a significant step forward for Peacock Group and for how we work together as one team. We’ve taken the time to find a site that works for our people and our current operations, while giving us the space and flexibility to support where we want to take the business in the future,” said McGrath.
“Peacock Bros. and insignia have established teams and expertise, and the new facility gives us an opportunity to bring those strengths closer together in a way we haven’t been able to before. It will create a larger, more modern environment for our teams, with better facilities and more space for our growing operations,” he explained.
Also including AMR Hewitts PrintPackaging, Peacock Group provides solutions spanning industrial coding and marking, printing and labelling, mobile computing, identification and tracking, colour labels and packaging, and software solutions.
A key feature of the Dandenong South site will be the Peacock Group Solutions Centre, a purpose-built customer experience space showcasing the breadth of solutions available across the Group. AMR Hewitts will continue to operate from its Tullamarine location, with its packaging solutions showcased as part of the centre.
Customers and prospects will be able to experience technologies in action and see how Peacock Group’s capabilities can work together to provide more complete, end-to-end solutions for their operations.
“Customer conversations have increasingly shifted from individual products towards complete solutions,” added McGrath.
“They want to understand how technologies such as mobile computing, barcode scanning, printing and labelling, coding and marking, RFID, software and data capture can work together across their operations. The Solutions Centre will give us a practical way to demonstrate that end-to-end capability and help customers explore the right combination of solutions for their business.”
The Solutions Centre will support customers across industries including manufacturing, warehousing, transport and logistics, retail, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, beauty and healthcare. It will also provide a dedicated space for Peacock Group to collaborate with its technology partners.
The move to Dandenong South will take place progressively, with employees currently based at Knoxfield relocating first, followed by the Peacock Bros. Oakleigh team in early 2027. Peacock Group plans to officially open the new facility and Solutions Centre in the first half of 2027.
